I have been a Discovery Map franchisee for the past 10 years. It has been a wonderful lifestyle business for me. I have raised two children during that time and attended almost every field trip and sports game due to my flexibility.
It is easy to do the things I love, like hiking, biking, skiing, boating and traveling while having a successful business. I managed my franchise alone for the first 6 years and have had a sales rep for the past 4 years.
It was easy to work the business alone but more fun to do it with a friend!

Evaluating the Opportunity with Discovery Map® and Steps to Starting your own franchise
At Discovery Map International, we evaluate prospective communities with you by looking at criteria like the community’s size, scope of the tourism economy, tourism marketing initiatives, visitor demographics and potential competition.
Do you have a community in mind? Let us know by completing the contact form and we will start the investigation together. The process typically takes 2-5 months.
Step One: The Initial Call
We'll review your questions about the business model and community of interest. Schedule a call today.
Step Two: Sales Aptitude Assessment
We will commission a third party sales evaluation to identify strengths and potential challenges.
Step Three: Discovery Day
You will visit with our team at our Waitsfield, VT, headquarters and receive the Franchise Disclosure Document.
Step Three: Decision Time
If you decide a Discovery Map franchise is right for you, we will walk you through the Franchise Agreement signature documents and start planning a mapping layout trip and schedule for your map production and printing.

While Discovery Maps are strongly represented on the eastern side of the US, the west and southwest include many markets that are strong prospects for a Discovery Map franchise. Canada represents another area of opportunity. Medium sized destination cities are great candidates for a Discovery Map.
