Becoming a Franchisee

lars_darlene2When we first relocated to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, the first thing we picked up as a resource to use was a Discovery Map. Who knew just several years later we would own not only our local Asheville map, but several other franchise cities as well!

Discovery Map affords us the opportunity to employ our son while he is a full time college student, work flexible hours avoiding the hassles of a retail environment, and meet great business owners in the communities that we service.

Every time we see someone walking around town carrying one of our maps, it reinforces the fact that the maps work and are here to stay, and that we made a great decision to be part of the Discovery Map family.

mark-and-familyOwning our Discovery Map franchises has been a blessing both professionally and personally. They have allowed us the opportunity to meet and become friends with fellow small business owners in the community. They also provide us the ability to earn an income while maintaining a flexible schedule and lifestyle.

One thing we did not anticipate when buying our first territory back in 2009, was the rapid changing nature of the technology side of the industry. However, we are fortunate that the franchisor did. They have been out in front of this ever changing digital industry. They continue to roll out new features, products and aspects of the business that continue to make us at the forefront of the industry. Had this not been the case we may not have chose to expand as far & as quickly as we have.

Become a Discovery Map® Franchisee

As a franchise company, we have never been more excited about our position in the world of local advertising.

Our free, hand drawn, engaging, and user-friendly maps are found throughout North America, as well as internationally. They have always been the pillar of our company's, and franchisees' success. However, in this new age of advertising, Discovery Map has created a suite of digital companion platforms while maintaining the same visionary, fun, effective "vibe" that our maps are famous for.

In other words, there has never been a better time to become a Discovery Map Franchisee.

We strive to award franchise territories to folks who share our passion for success. Even though becoming a franchisee has less risk than starting an independent business from scratch, it still requires hard work and effort in order to become successful.

Is it worth becoming a franchisee? We certainly think so.

To start, compared with small business start-ups, franchising is a global economic success story.

Franchising is a strategy that allows for the dynamic relationship of established business know-how and the entrepreneurial spirit.

With over $750 billion in sales annually in the U.S., one-third of all consumer purchases are made through a franchise. In years to come, that number is predicted to increase to one-half.

Discovery Map International Inc. is a franchise with an established brand in the travel and tourism industry. By offering a known product with a recognized brand, you have already mitigated many of the risks of failure that many new enterprises experience.

Maybe becoming a franchisee could be your own personal success story!

To promote the success and growth of your operation, Discovery Map provides the following support and assistance to franchisees:
